Beauty, for some people, is happiness, although
this concept has changed through time. The dentition of beauty is different in
each culture. So far, it has been represented in pictures and deep description
with a very interesting perception. In a few words, there’s not an exact
definition for beauty. But there’s no doubt that beauty is something simple
that leads to happiness.
Images and moments are the most inspiring
things in our souls. When we say moments, we talk about the unforgettable ones.
They are those moments in which we have felt proud of ourselves and eminent
undoubtedly. The moments when we have understood the real meaning of life.
Beauty is like something inherent but at the same time it isn’t.
At the moment of understanding beauty, this
element turns out to be a little distorted, and shadowed because of pressures
of life. But it is something we are always looking for. In fact, most of the
times, we are unable to see beauty in our happiest moments.
Happiness has nothing to do with beauty
standards. Being happy doesn’t necessarily mean having a very good hair or a
nice body, or maybe a perfect skin. Beauty can be found in those moments when
we have felt happiness, but not due to the physical appearance at all.
Then you should love beauty that irradiates
through your body with the person you have decided to spend your life with. Beauty
is that feeling we have when we kiss that person or the adrenaline we feel when
we lie back off the shore. It has nothing to do with how we look. Beauty is
also the emotion you feel in the middle of the concert of your favorite singer.
It is always good to capture those special moments. Happiness has a lot to do
with how we feel respect to this kind of moments not to how beautiful and
perfect our face or our body looks. Being alive is by far the most beautiful
thing.
For some people, confidence is also part of
beauty. Those sensations you feel when somebody is trying to cheer you up in
the middle of a very hard situation. Beauty is very similar to the feeling of
admiration and respect. Although beauty is not about being admired by others,
the sensation of being important for others is also beautiful. Others relate
that term with falling in love and the ecstasy that feel when that happens.
When we are in love, no matter where we are, if we are with the person we love,
ugly places turn beautiful, or at least to our eyes or perception. For learned
people, beauty has more to do with school achievements or the way it feels to
accomplish something that’s been really hard to get. It can be perfectly
described with the smile and the furrowed brow at the end of a long and bumpy
journey. When something has been really hard to achieve, beauty is then the
moments that come after each achievement. Beauty is not only in our brain,
beauty for some is in the heart and it’s where it shines through.
Needless to say that we are all unique, with
unique experiences that form our versions of beauty. We are all different in
shape, in colors, in heritage and sizes. We are mothers, uncles, sons,
daughters, and grannies. We are workers, creative, high-fliers and activists. We
are alive but at the same we are the mere representation of life and change,
and that’s beauty as well.
Our bodies permit us to accomplish everything
we want to. Our body is like that shell that radiates each one of our
experiences. We can show happiness and all experiences through it to the world
that surrounds us. But still, it’s impossible to define beauty regardless of
the culture we belong to. Beauty is composed of every moment, every experience
that makes us strong, that consumes us somehow with all the elements that are
part of life.
Society’s definition. What’s the true
definition of beauty?
In this century, for a woman being beautiful is
something that’s on her list. For women, beauty is being curvy, having a
perfect smile, showing off perfect teeth, not having a blemished skin, not
being too short or tall, among other things. Although the next definition is
quite unpopular, beauty is for some, something that comes from the inside of
everybody, and it doesn’t depend necessarily on what’s externally visible. If
we talk about somebody’s beauty, we can say that beauty comes from the way that
person is like. In other words, a person’s character can define beauty. But
what’s there inside? What’s the character composed of? Well, there are various
elements that make up the personality. For example, strength is one of them.
Showing dignity in front of hard situations or embarrassment is beautiful. Being
confident when things look really bad is a good representation of beauty as
well. Not to mention that laughing and smiling are important in our lives.
According to some religious books, bragging should be out of our lives because
handsomeness or attractiveness is not beauty. In other words, that a girl has
all men drooling over her doesn’t mean she is beautiful. It means they like her
physical appearance and they probably want her for other purposes.
So, beauty actually comes from the inside and
it can be reflected in compassion, good character, virtuousness, and
uniqueness. Strength and dignity are the most important traits of a beautiful
character. When a person has enough dignity, she is able to laugh despite the
bad days. When bad days come, this person should be able to act wisely,
refraining the tongue at all times. But what does being strong mean? Being
strong means acting without fear, with self-confidence. Being strong also means
not worrying so much about the future. A self-confident person acts according
to every moment. The character of this individual is full of hospitality and
compassion. Being compassionate means opening the arms to the poor and
extending hands to the needy. What makes these things beautiful is the act
towards people you don’t know at all. This is not about beautiful words but
also good actions and both things must match. Being kind is beautiful because
kindness doesn’t let you forget about yourself and other people.
A person like this doesn’t need the company of
somebody else to feel loved. This individual recognizes wrong people from the
distance. Of course, this has a lot to do with confidence as well. An insecure
person is always putting other people down. A person with these character
traits knows that there’s no point in competing for somebody’s love. You don’t
need to compete with others to get the attention from the boy you or girl you
like. Also, you don’t need to compete with others to see who has the thinnest
waist or the biggest biceps. The only thing you need is confidence to be
captivating for others.
So, beauty is not projected through the outward
adornment, for example, hairdos, and the clothes you wear. But it should come
from the inside which must radiate gentleness and stillness of spirit. For
women, there’s a saying that goes like this: Don’t think about being eye-candy,
instead, be soul food.
We live in a society where fitness really
matters. Apparently, everybody feels pressured to get perfect bodies without
knowing what exactly a perfect body is and what beauty really means.
To not get confused, it is necessary to know
the real meaning of beauty. Or rather, we should know the truth about it. One
thing is true, beauty is not the photo-shopped images we are constantly
bombarded with everyday.
The first you ought to know is how to fill your
head with the truth. It is necessary to cling to that truth every time the
world comes to you to deceive you. Let’s see:
1.
My
beauty is measured by my size, size of shoes, jeans, a number on a scale and
the size of my triceps.Truth: your beauty is defined by who you are.
It is defined by the wonderful things you can do to others and the greatness of
the universe you belong to. Certainly, there are physically beautiful people
around but many of them are always spewing hate.
2. The
definition of beauty or attractive is in the boy on the cover of the magazine
or the model I saw on TV yesterday. They represent what I should strive for.
This definition of beauty is another lie as the
images we constantly see on TV or magazines are far from being realistic and
unattainable. In general, those images are photoshopped, so the beauty standard
they project is totally unrealistic. It is time for you to be easier on
yourself when you look at yourself in the mirror. Instead of striving for
unrealistic stuff, set healthy goals and always cling to the true beauty
definition.
3.
I
need to show more skin to attract the girl/ boy I like.
Usually, what a guy looks for is
modesty. If you are always dressing provocatively, you will get some attention
but from the wrong guys, vulgarly known as “pigs”. Women who dress
inappropriately are treated like they were objects although they feel they are
holding themselves to a higher standard. If you like a guy, but he only focuses
on how much skin you show, then that guy won’t certainly respect you later. A
good way of ruining beauty is revealing too much.
